60,000 original miles. Gifted from my Mom. Block heater seems nonfunctional, as indicated by my Infrared Gun. Used an Ohm meter to verify "open" circuit between plug prongs. Pierced cord with straight pins 6 inches from plug to eliminate possibility of internal broken wires at the plug. Wanted to check the heater end of the cord for a positive connection at the heater. Jacked the car up to locate the heater. It is on the rear center of the block, high and cramped enough that it is near impossible to get a hand on the cord, let alone, probe it. 14 inch needle nose pliers do not reach. Looks like a ton of parts removal to access the cord / heater from underneath the car. I scoured the internet for the correct procedure to remove the block heater, without any results. I'd be interested to learn what the correct Hyundai (factory) procedure is. Thank you in advance.
